Bike Nite 7-22-10

A little late in posting, but then again I mentioned Last month- that I might NEVER post here again !
Anyway, this Crusier's Bike Nite (Sans Joel) turned out to be the Biggest Bike Nite (attendance-wise) of the year, and also one of the Biggest since it's inception in 2008. And "I" am partly responsible for the Awesome nite and record attendance. But, for as much as I do to promote the event, no good deed goes un-punished.

No News is ??

It's been a long while since I last updated this blog, and well... I wish things in my life had been better. First off, Gene and I are no longer friends- it was his choice not mine. Nothing really positive has happened in my life this year, and changes for the better are what I needed !
Anyway- we had our 2nd Bike Nite of 2010 at Cruiser's Cafe tonite, and turnout wasn't great at all- maybe 17 bikes ? The weather was fantatstic- BUT, there had been a threat of severe storms all day, which we think kept alot of Bikers away- I guess ?

PS- this maybe my last Blog entry- EVER !

News

A few tidbits of news...#1- Gene and I ended our disagreemnt, and are sorta back together again as friends. He also bought another slotbike to replace the one he burned up, and I recommended he keep it stock- to race in Class "B" -if he ever wants to race ME again? So there maybe a DSBA Class "B" race scheduled for sometime soon ?
#2- I'm gonna play Volleyball 2nite. #3- The (Final) Season Premere of LOST is on 2nite and I'm a Huge fan of that show. The first hour will be a recap show- followed by the actual 2 hour premere at 9pm.

Todays adventure....

Me and Gene were supposed to go to Flattrack races today, and meet up with Vince and a couple other guys, the other guys bailed, but me and Gene showed, but it was so freakin hot and not many Racers showed either- so "I" wanted to bail and do a Car Show with Gene's '53 studebaker instead. Then Vince showed, and he never got to see the races, but did get to ride with us to Gene's house and see his two Studes, the '53 Hotrod and the original '63 Supercharged Avanti. We then split with Vince and went our separate ways, and hope he made it home ok? But Gene's '53 ran out of GAS right on the middle of the Long Bridge(I-81) that crosses the Susquehanna river near Harrisburg. But he was following me on my bike, so I then went ahead and bought a small gas can and gas and came back, and soon we were on our way again.... We finally got to the Car "Cruise-In" held at Cruiser's Cafe- where I hold the Bike Nites, and it was a Huge turnout today. Maybe when pix are posted later- I post some here ? Anyway- what a Day !

Joel is Finally Cruisin' !

I took the Following pix on July 28th. Thats pastor Paul Beech at the helm of his newest bike- an '07 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic. The passenger is none other than Joel Snyder- owner of the Cruiser's Cafe. Let me add this, Joel does NOT like riding pillion ;-)

Cruiser's Bike Nite -july 21

Well, I just got back from Bike Nite @ Crusier's, weather was perfect, but turnout was light, I guess coz of the fear of rain. We had about 30+ bikes, a few new faces, but some old ones were missing. We held the Slow Races again, this time I participated on my Buell. Ahem, guess who WON ;-) FYI- I raced the guy from Harrisburg that won the last time, it was sorta close, but I think I beat him by a foot or so?

The Orange Happy Dance

What I did on my Birthday- today...

I ended up spending 3 hours with my new young Sportster friend Derrick Dieffenbach. But we spent the time over at Seths Motorcycle shop watching Derrick's friend get his bike inspected, then Derrick decided to get a new rear tire put on(which took an hour). We finally went for a ride to Cruiser's Cafe- which I was told(last week) to stop by today, and guess what, they had- had a birthday celebration waiting for me, but all those 3 hours I spent with Derrick at the shop next door, made the Gals at Cruiser's think I Wasn't gonna show, so they had the party without me, and cut the cake and passed it out- all except one piece which they saved for me. Soooo... I traded a B-Day party for me with the ladies- for hanging out with some guys in a Motorcycle shop, ahhhh.... I was Robbed ! BTW- Derrick can be seen in the Slow Races Video, as the guy with white t-shirt with shaved head and stocky build, riding the Sportster custom with the batwing fairing. Derrick lost out early against the guy on the Yamaha R6.

Happy Birthday to ME !

Well, I'm waaay past the halfway point now. FYI- I consider middle age to be 35-40 years old, and I just Turned 51 today/June 29th ! ARGH :-(

Better late than never- Bike Nite June 23

Well, this past tuesday nite's Bike Nite at Cruiser's Cafe was the best turnout yet. The weather was perfect, and we even had a Slow Race competition as our Biker Game. See Joel's blog at http://www.cruisers-cafe.com for pix and Youtube Video of the Slow Race !

Long time -No Post !

Alternate title; "Who'll Stop the Rain ?" Although to be fair, we had a really warm Spring with very little rain in April- when we should have gotten our showers. So I guess I'm just bitchin' coz I've been spoiled by the early nice weather this year.
FYI- I've done lots of motorcycle riding already this year, probably 4000+ miles already !? I've done quite a few Bike Nights already- including Two at Cruiser's Cafe, altho the first one was sorta rained out :(

I've been kinda depressed lately tho, as the reality that is my life-or lack there of, has really been hitting me hard. I'm made alot of mistakes in my life, and sometimes I really don't learn from them, so I'm doomed to repeat them :(

*Sighs* and old age is scaring the CRAP out of me as well.... I'll be turning 51 in a few weeks, and that AIN'T Middle AGE (Coz I know I won't be making it to 102 !), at the very best- my life is 2/3 over :(

Anyway, these are the cards I've been dealt, so I guess I'll just have to play them, as it's a bit too early to fold them....

Winter Sucks !

Winter depresses me like no other time of the year. I hate the cold, I hate the lonliness of the holidays, I hate the short days, I hate not being able to ride my motorcycles, and I hate what the road salt does to my car ! This maybe my LAST post until Spring !

It's too EARLY for SNOW !

Argh....I HATE Winter, and I really Hate snow... It doesn't just SUCK- It BLOWS !

Cruiser's Bike Day -coming Oct 19th !

Well it's Official-finally ! Cruiser's Cafe is going ahead with another Bike Night- 'cept it's during the DAY this time...it'll be all afternoon- Sunday Oct 19th ! I just got the Flyers today from Joel, although I wasn't home when he dropped them off. And there is a minor typo in these flyers, it says Sunday- Oct 18...but thats the wrong day- it's the 19th !
Anyway, I'm not guarantee'ing any number for turn-out this time, as the weather could make ALL the difference in late October ! But at least it's a DAY event....so that may help if the weather is halfway decent ?
